Sweet Dreams




This was a really fun theme to work on. My whole inspiration was these wooden star buttons I found a while ago. I wanted to create something of a magical fairy tale scene. So I used textile paint to create some strokes of color. The blush color of that paint is so soft but it shimmers with the light and think it adds to the fairy tale effect.
I really loved working on this project specially because this is the first thing that I have created in months. So satisfying to be back in the sewing room.

    This has such a lovely dream quality. It makes me think of the sky just after sun goes down when the first stars are coming out :)

    I'm so glad you're back in the sewing room and hope that your hand has recovered. What a pretty, happy quilt this is! Those buttons were perfect inspiration and I love the shimmer of the fabric paint. You've made a quilt that manages to be magical *and* elegant and stylish :-)

    Martha, I was immediately attracted to the feel of this quilt. It is so pure and simple, and maybe that's it. It took me right back to the feeling of anticipating something wonderful that I experienced as a chid -but not so much now. It's clear and bright and altogether delightful.
