I was excited about the theme of dreams for this challenge.
I had ideas right away for a quilt project.
I wanted to include some of my vintage doilies and lace,
with a new idea for a quilted item.
You can read about my process HERE,
along with some starts and stops along the way.
And, what I did make was this Sweet Dreams Pillow, in my favorite color of blue.
A sweet dreams pillow was the perfect response to this challenge, and it is even better to have included some well-loved fabric too :)
ReplyDeleteOoh this is a great idea. I really like the centre piece framing the moon and the use of lace is really lovely.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful dream interpretation. I feel you've created the effect of sinking through the pillow into sleep. I love the layers'rings draw the eye to the centre to rest in the calm nightscape.
ReplyDeleteNothing accompanies a sweet dream better than a sweet pillow. Lots of detail in it too.

Well of course -- a pillow is just the thing! Yours is so pretty with the blues and yellows and that touch of lace!
ReplyDeleteI think your colours are just right for the theme and the moon in the centre of your lovely piecing is perfect - you're eyes are drawn to it, and the effect is very calming!
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, I so appreciate your explanation of your process. To me, the pillow is even more dreamy after reading your post. It always amazes me of the thought and work that lies behind seemingly small or simple things. Yeah you! Sweet dreams!
ReplyDeleteIncluding your vintage lace in your dream-themed pillow was truly inspired!!

ReplyDeleteLove the pillow idea for the theme. The stars and moon, also.
