A while ago I wanted to do some folding of fabric like origami and found a few books with instructions.I had a few problems with the instructions and asked my husband for help since he had done some origami in the past. I really like the Stonehenge fabric from Northcott and found that I had 5 inch squares to use for all the squares. To fasten the center of some of the squares, I inserted a button then decided to put on in every square. Finally I got 7 squares finished and made the small quilt. Here are close-up of the different squares:
What a neat little quilt Debbi, I love the different variations you have tried. Your fabrics are lovely too and those tiny buttons were the perfect match for them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the choice of the softly mottled fabrics. To me, they really showcase the folded shapes.
ReplyDeleteOh...how much fun is that! Too cute. Love what you did with this.
ReplyDeleteI know how fiddly and difficult this is to do having tried it once and completely failed, so I'm very impressed :-) I agree about the mottled fabrics - something about them makes the folded pieces look beautifully sculptural.
ReplyDeleteFiddly, yes. Fun to do and I will probably never do it again.
DeleteThese are just lovely! I would imagine it took a bit of work to manipulate the fabric into those shapes, but you did it well! The fabric is perfect, too. Perfect idea for our theme!
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic. They have lovely impact and make the brain work hard to figure them out so it draws me into them. Love your choice of fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThese folded shapes look wonderful in the fabrics you've chosen and overall effect is brilliant. I'm very curious to know how you made them :)
